Frequently asked

Across 3 sessions from June 2025 to June 2026, the A* boundary for Papers 1, 2 and 3 has ranged from 84% (June 2025) to 85% (June 2026), averaging 84%. The E boundary has ranged from 39% to 40%. In June 2026 it was 85% for A* and 40% for E.
How is the German Language & Literature grade calculated?

Why do German Language & Literature grade boundaries change every session?
Boundaries are set after marking so that a grade represents the same standard whether the paper was slightly harder or easier. A harder paper gets lower boundaries. March, June and November series are set independently, which is why the same grade can need different marks in the same year.
